Ford Fusion SVT Years Away

(Dearborn, MI) FusionUnleshed.com / A Ford Fusion SVT model is certainly in the future, but Ford must first consider how to balance production at the Hermosillo plant. The plant is the only facility that makes the Ford Fusion, along with the Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr.

According to Ford's director of advanced product creatation, Hau Thai Tang, an SVT Fusion won't be introduced for a few years, when demand for the Fusion subsides.

Ford's Fusion SVT strategy is in direct conflict to that of the Chrysler Group. Rather than wait for models to cool off before introducing hotter, more powerful versions, Chrysler followed up the Hemi Charger and Chrysler 300C with SRT versions soon after they were both introduced.
